General Info & full body massage

All sessions are provided with you fully clothed (except perhaps socks).  This can take a little getting used to because we have, in this country, a tradition of taking clothes off for massage.  This is partly why I call my work “bodywork” rather than massage.  It still can result in deep relaxation; we are just skipping the part of the session for taking off clothes and then later putting them back on.

People ask about deep tissue and myofascial release massage.  I am qualified and experienced in this kind of work, and I find that when the body is left to recover itself based on its inherent wisdom, it is possible for things to be totally resolved, what we call “extinguished”.  Like you almost cannot remember if it really used to happen to you or was that something someone else used to talk about.  So I prefer to let the body lead the way;  I can apply pressure to meet the tension stored in the body and it will be in a very slow manner with attention and giving plenty of time for the body to digest old experiences and soften the tissues and musculature as it is ready.

Said another way, I do not do a full body massage, but focus on a few areas of your body in a session, maybe one area, or 2 or 3 areas.  This is done with you fully clothed (except shoes and perhaps socks).

I have attended John Barnes Myofascial Release trainings level 1 and 2 and am certified by Howard Rontal in Myofascial Release Massage.
