Myofascial tissues, are continuous and omnipresent in the body, and interweave and wrap muscles, and every division within the muscles. Where there is chronic or acute pain, limited or difficult range of motion, ongoing stress and tension, there is almost always myofascial tissue which needs to be released and relaxed. I apply deep pressure over the length of a muscle or set of muscles, or a slow holding of the muscles while the muscles release. I will check in with you about pressure to ensure it is working for you. (I do not believe you should have pain.).
I can give you a full body, upper body or lower body myofascial release massage where you recieve contact directly on your skin. This can free you from aching, limited range of motion and/or pain. However, it is my preference to have sessions where we are partners in your pursuit of feeling better and where you keep your clothes on, we work with your awareness of your physiology in addition to my awareness and experience of tension patterns. In this way, it is easier to effect long term change, especially if there has been any trauma or old injuries in the area which is now causing pain. This can alleviate pain and discomfort and also expand your capacity for ongoingly feeling good.
