gina 10 feet reflexIntegrative Reflexology®  is application of attention, touch and small movements to the your feet, hands and/or head/neck. Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflexes which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure and movement on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body. In addition to this traditional reflexology work, Integrative Reflexology® incorporates:

* the meridian theories from the oriental medicine energy systems;

* work with the Proprioceptors in the feet. (Proprioceptors are the nerves that give the body feedback about where it is located in space and are part of the body intelligence which can tell where the body is out of balance. The nerve endings in the feet are being understood as pathways for the “feel good” hormones that can balance emotional state as well.);

* myofascial tissue in the feet. (Structural alignment is the fascial model from Ida Rolf, the creator of Rolfing®. Ida Rolf called the feet “the tattle-talers”. They let you know where in the body there is fascial tension. The feet play directly into the back muscles with the shape of the arch. A collapsed arch or swollen inner lower arch generally indicates sacrum alignment problems.)gina 7 hand reflex

* integration in the brain, and right-left communication. Typically one side of the body or foot is massaged completely, and then the other; in Integrative Reflexology®, both feet are worked on during the entire session, which promotes integration, and strengthens the communication pathways between the right and left sides of the brain.

I will work with your feet, hands and forearms, and/or head and scalp. You will remain fully clothed except shoes and socks and lie on the massage table with or without other props and tools for your comfort (pillows at head and/or knees, table warmer, blankets, eye covers, music, and/or essential oils.
